What is the access like onboard the ferries?
These ferries operate on FANØLINJEN:
- M F Fenja
- M F Menja
- E F Grotte
On all three ferries there is no lift from the car deck to the passenger deck. There are only stairs.
On the E F Grotte there is a stairlift at one end of the ferry, which can be used between the car deck and the passenger deck.
Can I stay in the car during the crossing?
Yes, it is permitted to stay on the car deck during the crossing.
Please note:
- This only applies if no dangerous goods are being transported on the particular crossing
- Always follow the crew’s instructions
Is there an easier way to get to the passenger deck?
Yes.
If you have reduced mobility or use mobility aids, we recommend:
- That you board via the ramp from the harbour directly to the passenger deck
- Here you will find all facilities, such as a café, seating areas and toilets
This is the most accessible solution.
How do I order assistance?
If you need help with boarding, departure or during the journey, you must book assistance in advance.
How to do this:

- Book at least 48 hours before departure
- Provide details of which crossing you are travelling on and what help you require
When should I arrive at the harbour?
If you have booked assistance:
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before departure
- Report to the staff on arrival
